The Sunday 1st team were underdogs going in to the final of the Hitchin Sunday League George John Memorial Final against Division 2 Runners-Up FC Inter Malone. It had been a mediocre season for the adults in the Club's Golden Anniversary season, but great cup performances had seen them win through to the final of this competition.

The lads battled hard, but found themselves 2-0 down at half-time in the final, played at Arlesey Town's ground. A second-half strike from top scorer and Golden Boot winner Jonny Day gave the team hope of a come back, but tired legs in the last half hour took their toll and Inter Malone recorded what was maybe a somewhat flattering five goals to take the cup.
